M12 connectors come in various categories, mostly categorized into standard industrial connector types such as A, B, C, D, X, S, T, and L.
A-coding is commonly used for sensors, actuators, and power connections, typically with 3-12 pins. B-coding is primarily used for Profibus/Interbus applications. D-coding is used for high-speed industrial Ethernet, Profinet, and EtherCAT, with transmission rates up to 100Mbps. X-coding is used for 10Gbps Ethernet, Cat6A standard. S/K/T/L-coding is used for AC/DC power supplies, such as S-code (AC 630V) and T-code (DC 60V). These are currently standard M12 connector types.
Our current 2-pin and 3-pin M12 waterproof connectors are mainly used for outdoor power connections, while 4-pin, 5-pin, and 6-pin connectors are primarily for signal connections in outdoor equipment. Our waterproof connectors are not interoperable with these standard waterproof connectors. Please contact us for information on and customization of M12 waterproof connectors.
